Kid's Work provides specialized therapies for children with special needs, behavioral problems, or developmental delays. We do this by combining sensory integration techniques with traditional occupational therapy that is tailored to each child’s individual needs. Our goal is to help children become better at their true occupation: living, learning, and playing. |

We treat sensory disorders such as over- and under-sensitivities, tactile defensiveness (e.g., dislike of shirt tags), poor coordination, and those with vestibular (balance) issues. Sensory disorders may also be present in some of the conditions mentioned below. Children at all points on the Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as those diagnosed as with Asperger's Syndrome can benefit from working with us. We also commonly see children with attention deficit disorder (ADD) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Our approach may allow children to avoid using, or reduce their dependence on, medications to regulate their behavior. Talk to your doctor before changing your child's medical regimen. |

Sadly, we have worked with many premature babies and babies with pre-natal drug exposure. These children may need help with self-calming, oral defensiveness, and associated motor skill delays. Family Counseling: Assisting parents to understand how their own sensory processing styles may impact their child’s functioning. We are discovering that how parents interact and provide boundaries really impacts their children’s sensory processing and self-regulation. This really helps the child to understand and control their behavior. All Kid's Work therapists are nationally board certified and state licensed occupational therapists capable of providing traditional therapies such as gross motor, fine motor, and visual motor skills. We can teach self-help skills such as dressing, eating, and hygiene to your child. Over the years, Stephanie has treated infants, children, and adults with a wide variety of conditions. Since 1991, Stephanie has been working almost exclusively with children. So naturally, when we started Kid's Work, we decided to limit the practice to providing therapy to children, especially those with sensory disorders. We look forward to working with you and your family,
- Stephanie M.
